Compare
Glow Line against doing it by hand, and against a general tool
Most salons handle the phone one of two ways: let it ring and call back from voicemail, or sign up for a general answering or booking tool built for every industry at once. Here is the honest comparison, capability by capability.
| Capability | By hand | A general tool | Glow Line |
|---|---|---|---|
| Who answers mid-service | Nobody, or a stylist who stops | Depends on the tool; often a form, not a voice | An Australian voice that opens as the virtual assistant for the team |
| Knows your prices | Only if you pick up | Usually a generic script you write and maintain | Reads your saved services, prices and durations; quotes nothing else |
| When a caller asks something not on the list | You answer from memory | Varies; some tools guess | Says it is not sure and the team will confirm |
| Booking | You write it in the book | Many tools book straight into a diary you must keep perfect | Takes a request; you confirm by text, nothing is promised |
| What you get after a call | A voicemail to listen to | An email or a dashboard entry | A text to your mobile with the request or a summary |
| Your mobile number | Given out to anyone who asks | Depends | Stays private; callers reach the line, texts come to you |
| Setup | Nothing to set up | Hours of configuration and a learning curve | Type your menu and hours, press one button for the number, dial a divert code |
| A booking page | A DM or a phone call | Often paid | Included on every plan, including Free |
| Enquiry inbox | Your email, mixed with everything else | Sometimes | A forwarding address and a list with reply links, on every plan |
| Cost | Missed calls | Varies widely | Free; Line $29 a month; Salon $84 a month; no GST |
| Lock-in | None | Some need a contract | Monthly, cancel any month from Billing |
Glow Line does less than a full booking system on purpose. It does not hold your diary, so it cannot double-book you. It does not take payments, so a caller never gives card details to a machine. It answers the phone from your list, takes the request and sends it to you. If you want software that runs the whole salon, this is not that. If you want the phone answered honestly while your hands are busy, it is.
