For beauty salons
Glow Line for beauty salons
Facials in a dark room, waxing behind a curtain, a brow tint setting. The phone is in another room and the therapist is in this one. Glow Line answers it with your menu and hours, takes the request and sends it to you.
Incoming call, Monday 11:20 am
- I was given a voucher at Christmas. Can I still use it on a dermaplaning facial?
- Thanks for calling Petal and Stone. Vouchers are valid for three years, so yes. The dermaplaning facial is $115 and takes 60 minutes.
- Lovely. A weekday morning would suit me best.
- I will pass that on with the voucher noted. Can I take your name and mobile? The team will text you to confirm a time.
Booking request Sent to the salon with her name, mobile, the facial and the voucher.
What gets in the way for beauty salons
The treatment room is silent
A ringing phone during a facial breaks the whole point of the facial. Therapists either ignore it or apologise and step out. Neither is good.
Menus mix long and short
A fifteen-minute brow shape and a ninety-minute facial sit on the same list. The assistant gives the length as well as the price, so callers plan their day.
Package and voucher questions
Callers ask whether a voucher covers a treatment or whether you do a bridal package. If the answer is in your notes, the assistant gives it. If not, it says the team will confirm.
A worked example
Beauty salon work, with Glow Line
Petal and Stone is a two-room beauty salon run by a solo owner with one part-time therapist. The menu lists facials by type and length, brow and lash tints, brow shaping, waxing by area, spray tans and a dermaplaning facial. Notes mention that vouchers are valid for three years, that the salon is up a flight of stairs with no lift, and that a deposit is asked for bookings over ninety minutes.
A caller rings during a facial to ask if a voucher she received at Christmas is still good and whether she can book a dermaplaning facial. The assistant reads the voucher rule from notes, gives the price and length of the facial, mentions the deposit rule, and takes her name, mobile and a preference for a weekday morning. The owner finishes the facial, reads the text, and confirms Tuesday at ten by text.

Questions from beauty salons
Can it explain our deposit policy?
Yes, if you write it in notes. It says what you wrote and never takes the payment itself.
Can it handle two therapists' different hours?
Hours are set for the salon as a whole. Put each therapist's days in notes and the assistant will mention them when asked.
Will it answer medical questions about a treatment?
Only what is in your services and notes. For anything else it says the team will confirm.

Day spas
A spa sells quiet. Front desk cover is expensive and the phone is busiest on the days the treatment rooms are full.
